Emmaus Church, Severn Beach, Bristol

Emmaus Church is a community of about 40 people of mixed ages, set in the Severnside village of Severn Beach - a community of about 2,000 people. Over the past year the church’s leadership team has been focused on re-establishing the life and work of the church on three core principles: to make disciples for Jesus, to form those disciples into a loving community and to reach out to touch the surrounding society.

The church is just producing its first Community newsletter, called ‘Making Waves’ which features the fortnightly youth club which is run by a team from the church under the leadership of Kevin Hibbs and the village playgroup which meets in the church’s building every morning of the week.

Please pray for the church as it explores the possibilities of developing its work with children and young people in the villages of Severn Beach and Pilning. A prime prayer target is for more families with school age children to join those already in the church so that natural contacts can be developed with other families in the village.
